Cary B. Bowen
Mr. Bowen, one of the firm's founding partners, is a highly regarded and well-respected criminal defense attorney who is sought throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to represent clients. Michael J. Champlin
Michael J. Champlin is highly respected for his honesty and integrity by his colleagues, his clients and the attorneys he opposes in litigation. His practice falls under the umbrella of general civil litigation, including cases ranging from debtor/creditor relations to wills & estates. A graduate of Wake Forest University and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Mr. Champlin also has shared his legal knowledge with students as an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond for 20 years. Gregory D. Foreman
Gregory D. Foreman, a Partner in the Firm, is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College where he was named to the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Fraternity.

During law school, Greg worked part-time for a Richmond-based title insurance company. John A. Rockecharlie
John Rockecharlie is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. A graduate of the University of South Carolina and the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, John was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1987. He began his legal career as a prosecutor for the City of Richmond and quickly became the Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in charge of the Manchester Courthouse. He handled a wide range of criminal cases from violent crime to white collar fraud in both the Circuit and General District Court.
In 1992 he joined the Chesterfield County Commonwealth Attorney's Office and prosecuted criminal cases in the county until 1994. At that time he went into the area of personal injury law as an attorney with Nationwide Insurance. For two years he represented the interests of individual policy holders who were involved in personal injury litigation.
In 1996 he rejoined the Richmond Commonwealth Attorney's Office as a Deputy Commonwealth Attorney, this time in charge of the juvenile court. In 1998 John joined the firm and he is now the managing partner.
John has gained a wealth of experience during his many years of practice. He has participated in over 250 jury trials involing issues as varied as multi-million dollar claims to defending people charged with capital murder and all types of matters in between. G. Russell Stone, Jr.
Russ Stone joined the practice in 2004 and handles primarily criminal trials and appeals along with some domestic and civil matters in all courts. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1986 and the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1989. He spent 15 years as a prosecutor prior to entering the private practice of law. He has served as Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Chief Counsel to the Financial Investigations and Money Laundering Unit of the Virginia Attorney General's Office, Regional Drug Prosecutor for the Richmond Metro Multi-Jurisdiction Grand Jury and was a cross-designated Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. He has handled a variety of cases around the Commonwealth and has handled more than 100 jury trials in State and Federal courts. He is a father to one daughter and is a huge fan of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series.

William T. Fitzhugh
Will Fitzhugh concentrates his practice in domestic relations and criminal matters. He is a 1992 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond where he received the Charles T. Norman Award as Best All-Around Law Graduate and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.

Susan L. Parrish
Ms. Parrish's practice focuses on criminal defense and personal injury civil litigation. A former prosecutor in Richmond and Henrico county, she prosecuted violent crimes, including murder, rape, and robbery. She also supervised the prosecution of both Exile and sexual assault cases in Richmond. As an assistant Attorney General, she briefed and argued appellate cases before the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Virginia Supreme Court.

Jacqueline M. Ford
Jacqueline Ford is an experienced trial lawyer. In addition to defending all levels of felonies and misdemeanors (including capital murders), Mrs. Ford’s practice also includes complex civil and commercial litigation; including Virginia Consumer Protection Act, construction, employment, personal injury, professional liability, and premises liability disputes. She is also experienced in drafting and negotiating materials and services contracts. Mrs. Ford dedicates a significant portion of her practice to defending individuals charged criminally with sex offenses and for whom the Commonwealth seeks to involuntarily civilly commit through the Sexually Violent Predator Act set forth in the Virginia Code. Aileen F. Tucker
Aileen concentrates primarily in domestic law. Tucker, a Qualified Guardian ad Litem, enjoys helping families deal with special education issues within school systems, and her advocacy work on behalf of children. Tucker, a former Kindergarten teacher, is a graduate of Mary Washington College and the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. While in law school, she completed internships with the Youth Advocacy and Mental Disabilities Law Clinics and at Central Virginia Legal Aid. She received the Family Law Award and Public Interest Law Association Pro Bono Award. Tucker, who is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Bar Association, also served as a volunteer with the Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC).

William P. Irwin, V
Bill is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He moved to Virginia in 1990 to attend Hampden-Sydney College, from which he graduated in 1994 with a degree in Political Science. During his four years, Bill served as President of the Honor Court, was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and was active in several other organizations. After graduation, Bill was employed as an Assistant Dean of Admissions for two years at Hampden-Sydney. Bill graduated from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1999. While attending UR, he studied at Cambridge University in England and completed internships in the Richmond Commonwealth Attorney's Office and the Public Defender's Office. Upon graduation, he clerked for the Honorable James B. Wilkinson in the Circuit Court for the City of Richmond in the Manchester Courthouse.

Brian S. Foreman
Brian joined the firm in 2008, fulfilling a lifelong dream to someday practice law alongside his Dad. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked for two judges of the Court of Appeals of Virginia: The Honorable James W. Haley and The Honorable Randolph A. Beales. As a result of this experience, Brian is well-suited to handle appellate matters in both the state and Federal systems.

Jack Daniel, M.D.
As a physician and attorney, Jack Daniel provides a unique element to the professional staff of Bowen, Champlin, Foreman & Rockecharlie. Dr. Daniel is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, the Medical College of Virginia, and the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law. Jack’s years of experience as a forensic pathologist and former medical examiner for both the military and the Commonwealth of Virginia gives him a special perspective on matters involving illness, injuries and forensic evidence. Brittany Corbett
Brittany Corbett is a native of Chesterfield, Virginia and joined the firm in 2009. She is a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Psychology and T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond where she earned a Family Law Certificate in addition to her Juris Doctor. Ms. Corbett has firsthand experience in the challenges of special needs children. She provided weekly tutoring to a foster child with emotional and behavioral needs while at JMU and participated in the Disability Law Clinic.
Ms. Corbett’s practice encompasses custody, visitation and other family law matters as well as representation in General District Court criminal cases. Gretchen Hutt Brown
Gretchen is an experienced trial lawyer who returned to Richmond after eight years as an assistant prosecutor in Lynchburg, Virginia. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Radford University, and she went on to law school at the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law. Gretchen spent a year in private practice after being admitted into the Virginia Bar in 2001 and then she joined the Lynchburg Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. Gretchen prosecuted a wide array of felonies and misdemeanors in the Juvenile, General District, and Circuit Courts of Lynchburg. She graduated from the Virginia Association of Commonwealth Attorneys Top Gun and Murder I Programs, where she received specialized training in trial advocacy and cross-examination. Gretchen now plans to utilize her extensive courtroom experience to advocate on behalf of her private clients.
Gretchen is a third generation attorney. She was raised in Westmoreland County, and she hopes to use her strong ties to the Northern Neck as well as the Middle Peninsula to expand her business in that region. Gretchen’s practice areas include criminal defense, divorce, child custody, and civil litigation generally. She is an avid horse enthusiast, and hopes to expand the firm’s practice area to include equestrian law here in Virginia.
